Which Beach on Kauai Is Best for My Beach Wedding?
Wondering which beach is best? Read about the many unique beaches on the beautiful island of Kauai and then decide which one is best for your beach wedding.
Here are a few tips when deciding which beach is best for you:
- Have a backup location in case there is rain forecasted on your wedding day.
- Some vendors will charge extra if your beach is far out of their service area.
- You’ll need a Beach Wedding Permit. Timory McDonald Photography has the required permit so you won’t need to get one or you can contact Kauai’s Department of Land and Natural Resources for more information.
Our Favorite Wedding Beach – Lydgate Beach
Our personal favorite beach for a wedding in Kauai is Lydgate Beach. It offers privacy, rainy day options, and is overall a superb Kauai wedding location.
Located in Kapaa near the Wailua River, it extends for miles. There is a great mountain view on one side and an expansive ocean view on the other. Rock formations jut out into the ocean, creating privacy and the perfect spot for a ceremony. There are also pavilions which can be used for cover if a rain shower begins.
Perhaps the reason we love Lydgate Beach the most is because it’s relatively unvisited. Therefore, you won’t have to fight the crowds of other weddings taking place at the same time or have a beach full of vacationers in their swimsuits showing up in the background of your photos.
For these reasons, we’ve love Lydgate Beach for beach wedding photos on Kauai.
Other Stunning Kauai Beaches
Kauai offers so many stunning beaches, and they each have their own unique qualities which may fit perfectly with your wedding style.
Here are a few of our other favorite beaches for weddings:
Tunnels Beach:
Located at the end of the road on the north shore, Tunnels Beach has the majestic Bali Hai mountains as the backdrop.
Ke’e Beach:
It doesn’t get any prettier than Ke’e Beach on the north shore. With its palm trees and turquoise waters, this is what many brides picture when they dream of their beach wedding.
Hanalei Bay:
Another north shore beach, Hanalei Bay is very picturesque with mountains in the background, a pier that extends into the ocean, and a wide crescent-shaped beach.
Nukolii Beach:
Located on the east side of the island, Nukolii Beach is beautiful and very secluded.
Anahola Beach:
Also located on the east side, Anahola Beach is a long stretch of sand with river, mountain, and forest backdrops. For a truly authentic Hawaiian feel, this is your beach.
Every corner of the island is a tropical paradise so no matter which Kauai beach you decide to use for your beach wedding, you simply can’t go wrong.
