If you are really organized, many photographers and other vendors will take bookings 12-18 months in advance, especially for popular dates such as New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, and summer holiday weekends. What to do If You Need to Find a Wedding Photographer Last Minute
If you have a short engagement, or you are left searching for a photographer at the last minute, don’t panic. Ask your preferred (but booked) photographer for a recommendation for a colleague that has a similar style and in whom they trust.
Another option is to be flexible with your wedding date in order to book your preferred photographer. He or she may be booked on your initial date request but may be open the day before or after.
